Mobcast Games opened pre-registration in Japan for the upcoming mobile title Yu Yu Hakusho Genkai Battle Spirits. Originally planned to come out in 2019, the game reappeared now with a new campaign, new key art and an updated website. Mobcast Games did not release a window, but people in the region can register. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
The title appeared in Jump Festa articles back in 2019, when it was to be launched. The game was never released, but the company announced that it was developing it again in November 2020. To celebrate the opening of pre-registration, Mobcast Games launched a renewed website and released an online commercial featuring singer Maki Goto.
The upcoming title will be free to play with optional microtransactions. The game will be an action RPG with leveling mechanics. Mobcast Games is currently running a campaign where players can earn bonuses in the game. Depending on how many people pre-register for the title, the developer will currently release the name Rurimaru. The first milestone will net players 150 Rurimaru if 50,000 people pre-register.
Yu Yu Hakusho Genkai Battle Spirits will drop on Android and iOS devices in Japan. In addition, IP is making a comeback in more ways than one. Netflix and Toho Studios are currently in pre-production of a live action Yu Yu Hakusho series.
