Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S stock arrives at Walmart today at 3 p.m.

Andy Hoyle / CNET

Today is the day, folks. Walmart.com and the Walmart app will have Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on sale starts at 1

2 PT (15:00 ET) on Thursday 25 March. (However, there is no indication that PS5 will be available in this round.) Most of the time we have barely an hour’s notice of upcoming stock falls, but we have known that the stock on March 25 has arrived for a week now. What is remarkable about this time is that these are said to be the “Xbox All Access” versions of both consoles. That means you get the console of your choice and the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (Microsoft’s “Netflix for games”, basically) for a flat fee of $ 25 per month for the Xbox Series S or $ 35 per month for the Xbox Series X. After 24 months you own the console for free and clear, with zero percent interest to start.

Complete information about Xbox All Access can be found here, but the long and the short is that this is a good deal. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gives you access to dozens of premium titles from EA and other publishers, including daily and date releases of first-class titles from Microsoft – such as now includes ZeniMax and Bethesda titles in the Doom, Dishonored, Wolfenstein and Elder Scrolls series (to name a few).

If anything interests you, be ready when Walmart opens its virtual flood gates on Thursday afternoon. The consoles are only available for delivery. And be prepared: Based on past experience, you may end up waiting in line, only to face the dreaded “sold out” message.

You can improve the odds by opening the store pages in multiple browsers and on other devices (your PC, your phone, tablet).
