A French store list The Witcher 3 for the Nintendo Switch which spreads speculation that the masterful RPG will cross over to the handheld world.
CD Project Red's magnum opus could come to Nintendo's popular Switch handheld hybrid console, at least if a new product listing in French distributor WT & T is accurate. Predictably, the listing is vague and has no actual information, no cover or box type, and a placeholder 201
Now it makes sense to bring The Witcher 3 to switch from a business perspective, at least as well as sales. CD Projekt RED has spent a tremendous amount of money developing Cyberpunk 2077 and has released The Witcher 3 on all platforms beside the Gwent service game and a new Thronebreaker game to fund costs (CDPR also has GoG .com too). Developers usually launch remaster and portals for older, more successful games while other projects are being made to help reduce potential losses in this year's long part-time without new game launches.
Witcher 3 is a sales revenue sample that flooded the two previous games, and Switch has a strong 22 million installation base .
So a Witcher 3 Switch port will undoubtedly sell and generate a good buffer of revenue for CD Projekt RED.
But the process of porting the giant world would be cumbersome to say the least. Witcher 3 is one of the most majestic and truly impressive open worlds in all games, and sports a vibrant ecosystem filled with wild flora and fauna, day to night cycles and other technology-demanding environments and effects. If the game is sent to the switch, it must be called down substantially to run smoothly on the system's limited hardware. The game's engine was specifically tailored to run on consoles and PCs, and while it's true that the game scales across multiple hardware specifications, Switch is just as undervalued for comparative performance.
This really seems like another game that should not be sent to the switch because it will be seriously hindered. Perhaps it could be done if the CDPR put sufficient effort into it, but they work hard with Cyberpunk 2077 and a new unannounced AAA RPG exclusively by 2021 . I don't know if a third party game maker could customize The Witcher 3 to Switch without much help from CDPR. It just doesn't seem to happen.
I think that if a Witcher game comes to Switch, the WT & T entry means Thronebreaker instead of The Witcher 3. Thronebreaker is considerably less demanding than Geralt's epic adventure and seems to fit into Switch & # 39; s wheelhouse.
