After almost 25 years of sleep, Sega's Streets of Rage will continue.
Streets of Rage 4 is being developed by publisher DotEmu and developers Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games, the publisher said this morning. DotEmu also launched a trailer that featured the game's cartoon comedy and revealed the return of the series's star stars, Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding. The company has not announced the platforms the game will appear on, nor the release date. Kala Bare Knuckle in Japan, Streets Of Rage was Segas homemade entry in popular page-scrolling beat-em-up genre, at the end of Final Fight ] and Double Dragon . It had three successful entries on Genesis in the 1990s, but became dark after that – which made the genre to a large extent. A recent revival in the interest of classic 2D games has led to more revival of Double Dragon and now Streets of Rage is the last to make a return.
