For the last time before Destiny 2's new DLC expansion, Forsaken, released, Xur has arrived. But this look is remarkable because it's the first since the big update that dropped recently, dramatically revamped many areas of the game. Among the elements it has touched is Xur himself, as you may notice no longer appears on the game card. Here is where he is and what weapon and armor he sells – and there are some notable differences.
Patch 2.0 removed the waypoint from the map that leads you to Xur, but it also changed where he comes up. Previously, he would be in the same place as today's weekly Flashpoint. But with Flashpoints now rotating on a four-day basis, Xur's will is not his own, "as patch notes put it, meaning he can pop up anywhere ̵
As of 31 August Xur can be found in the European Dead Zone . Although not marked on the map, he returns to his usual place in Winding Cove to find him just joking at the landing zone and take the road directly northwards. He can be found at a height next to a crashed ship.
For his merchandise, he has the typical Isochronal / Fated Engram (more of it in a moment), Three of Coins and Five of Swords challenge card. There are exotic items that are important: Even if you only find a typical range of weapons and armor for each class, random rolls – something from the original Destiny will be reintroduced with the Forsaken – will be in effect. The Armor Available , have different benefits from those you already own, and will be superior due to the mere fact that they have more advantages than existing versions. It is unclear whether these are random rolls or the new set for these Exotics, but somehow they may be worth buying. Here's what you can get and how much it costs:
- Prometheus Lens (Exotic Trace Rifle) – 29 Legendary Shards
- Knucklehead Radar (Exotic Hunter Helmet) – 23 Legendary Shards
- Vesper of Radius (Exotic Warlock Brest Armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
- Ashen Wakes – 23 Legendary Shards
- Fated Engram – 97 Legedary Shards
- Three of Coins – 31 Legendary Shards
Another 2.0 update change for Xur to be aware of concerns Fated Engram. Buying this expensive item has previously ensured that you receive an exotic you do not already own. Continue, this will only consist of Exotics available before the Forsaken. It may be disappointing for those who reliably hope to secure Forsaken Exotics, but this will in any case remain a viable way of trying to roll out their year 1 exotic collection.
Forsaken releases September 4th for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 – with a range of timed exclusive content on PS4. On September 1, all Destiny 2 players (who now include everyone with PS Plus subscriptions) can participate in a 24-hour Gambit trial, the new PvP / PvE hybrid mode will be introduced in the Forsaken.
