WhatsApp has released its first Beta update in 2021, and it is packed with hints about new features that may land on your phone later this year.
As WABetaInfo reports, there is a huge list of improvements coming in, including improved video and voice calls, better chat log backups, easier contact management, improved stickers, and various bug fixes.
There are also several new features on the way, including one that will help you not miss group conversations, which are becoming increasingly important for keeping in touch with friends and family as the pandemic continues.
If you miss the start of a group conversation (due to an accident or a collision with times), it is currently impossible to jump in later and apologize. When the new feature arrives, it will be possible to join when you are available, provided that the call is still in progress.
Although not yet available for testing, and a release date has not yet been confirmed, resources hidden in the WhatsApp Beta installation files suggest that this will be an option for both iOS and Android.
