There is ‘partial’ support now
It’s still the first days of PS5 development.
Studios are still figuring things out, and “full use PS5”, as it has become known, is not going to happen yet for every single game. Square Enix has recently confirmed to Talk to Famitsu that this will apply to the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
When the remake actually hits the PS5 in a few months, it will only offer “partial” PS5 support. Tetsuya Nomura, co-director of the first part, says: “When it comes to adaptive triggers, they are partially supported. When it comes to using all the features of PlayStation 5, please wait for the next game where we can start from scratch.”
Nomura continues to set expectations and explains that photo mode in the PS5 version is simpler in nature and “different from Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind“Photo mode, which is more expansive. In other words, you can not change the positions or expressions of party members. However, he says you can use the mode” right away “without any esoteric unlocking requirements.
Everything is give and take, right? The PS5 features are nice and everything, but I do not fully expect them from every game, let alone a port. However, it may color your perception of it, if you expected Square Enix to go completely out.
