Microsoft's X018 event is set to start today, November 10th, at. 13.00 PT / 4 PM ET / 9 PM GMT / 8AM November 11 AEDT. It is held in Mexico City, but those who can not attend the event will be able to see what the company has planned for Xbox One and PC here through the magic video streaming. The opening in the Xbox stream will also host YouTube (below), Twitch and Mixer, and is expected to last around two hours.
Although we do not know exactly what to show, the platform holder has given us some teaser of what can be expected. First up, one tweet confirmed that there will be "big news" for PlayerUnknown's Battlefields, Shadow of The Tomb Raiders. The Forge Extension will give a look and it will be a showcase of new Updates to State of Decay 2. Beyond that, there will be "more exclusive looks" on future titles.
As you can tell from the YouTube thumbnail above, X018 is also likely to provide us with more information about Crackdown 3, Devil May Cry 5, Kingdom Hearts 3, The Thieves Sea, Minecraft, Just Cause 4, and id @ Xbox. In addition, the Xbox Game Pass service will undoubtedly come into focus. The service gives subscribers access to a library of Xbox 360 and Xbox One games, which they can download and play at no additional cost as long as they are members.
Microsoft has revealed its plans to expand Game Pass to PC. CEO Satya Nadella mentioned this during a earnings call, saying that this move would help increase the strength of the Xbox brand. Starting with, a time frame for when Game Pass will be on PC, is not confirmed.
X018 is a "global celebration of all things Xbox" and the latest in an aggressive marketing campaign that Microsoft has conducted this year. It recently introduced a new Xbox console payment plan, called Xbox All Access, and offers current hardware at affordable prices. It has also recently disclosed more of its executive plans and confirms that Project xCloud is scheduled for testing in 2019.
