Black Ops fans can finally rejoice, as Mason would soon come as an operator for the Cold War and Warzone.
When Black Ops Cold War was first released, fans were confused about the placement of an all-too-familiar face. Despite the fact that Alex Mason is the main character of the original Black Ops, and a major player in the Cold War, he is not yet part of the operator list.
Fortunately, it seems we will not wait for our favorite numbered soldier for much longer. After all, a new leak from the game files of the Cold War reveals that Mason may be coming very soon.
And when Black Ops Cold War finally gets its missing character, fans of Modern Warfare believe that Soap will also be coming to Warzone soon.
Let’s just hope they do not give Mason a horrible new look, as they did with soap.
Alex Mason operator in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone
It lacks a remarkable character from Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, but Alex Mason may be coming soon.
In the original Black Ops story, Mason undergoes brainwashing by the Soviets in Vorkuta, and becomes a sleeping agent. Implemented in his mind was the knowledge of interpreting outgoing broadcasts from Dragovich’s number station, along with the goal of murdering John F. Kennedy.
Throughout history, Mason’s head is infected with the mysterious numbers that will lead our heroes to stop an impending Nova 6 attack. And because of this, it’s up to Hudson and Weaver to interrogate the CIA operator to tell them what the numbers mean.
It now appears that other Black Ops Cold War and Warzone operators will interrogate Mason further. Thanks to a series of voice lines in the Cold War files, we can hear every operator asking Mason for the numbers.
This could be part of the upcoming Nova 6 event in Warzone, something most players forgot was ever leaked.
It can also be part of the Zombies / Nuke event that comes in Warzone’s Plague Mode.
New Voice Lines in Black Ops Cold War Season 2
With the release date for Black Ops Cold War season 2 Reloaded approaching, maybe that’s when Mason joins the cast.
“The numbers Mason, what do they mean?”
The iconic line is back in Black Ops Cold War, it seems. This is thanks to TheGhostOfHope on Twitter, which has uncovered a series of voice lines through data mining.

Even newer operators such as Samantha Maxis and the season 2 cast join the interrogation. This suggests that Mason will soon appear as an operator, and possibly with a unique event.
It is worth noting that the Game Show map in the Cold War already has a reference to Mason. After all, the title of the series in the universe is: “What do the numbers mean?”
Right now, players are angry that Cold War and modern warfare have at least 6v6 multiplayer content in the series so far. But that may not be the case for much longer.
After all, Call of Duty: WW2 Vanguard is already using assets, probably due to severe time constraints. And despite a new WW2 Vanguard Warzone map coming in 2022, we have yet to see much of the Cold War’s incoming Battle Royale Arena.
However, we have our first picture of the new Warzone map to be released in April.
