I'm not the kind of person who enjoys the cover of video games. Sonic The Hedgehog theme is as good as it is, thank you. But now I've met Steeldrumband's re-configurations of classic video game music on YouTube, and maybe I need to change my entire position.
According to their website, Steeldrumbands is a group of steel bandbands who work around the UK. They are available for Caribbean theme events, weddings and team building exercises. "Versatile and available in different sizes from one soloist to sixteen," they explain, "we can adjust to fit space and budget."
They are also very good at playing video games music on steel drums. The arrangement for the instruments of Francis Mundangepfupfu is really amazing. I mean, look and listen to this "fighting media" from Final Fantasy VII:NO TRUE ?! There is something about the steel drum that just does everything for me. I want it to be just the music. There is still time, Square-Enix. You can make the entire Final Fantasy VII Remake audio track with steel drums.
Of course, I had to dig into the directory of these steel drummers and I was not disappointed yet.
You can get to know the crew a bit and listen to some Wii music along with the Super Mario Bros theme:
Want to hear the fienne Zelda theme played in such a smooth and perfect way that you wonder what you've been doing with your life?
I do not know how to play the steel drums and I do not think I've ever touched one, but I promise you if I could go back in time and learning how to play this beautiful instrument as I wanted.
If you're not consumed by your lack of steel drum to play (as I am), you can also watch them make a "Live Soundtrack" for Super Mario Bros. 3 . That is correct. The steel drum can kick the ass in real time .
My skin is clear. All my debts have been abolished. I look up at the stars at night with hope in my heart. Video game music via the steel drum has really changed my life.
