U.S. carrier Verizon begins to activate eSIM lines for Apple's dual-SIM iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max, according to subscribers.
Verizon Verified Support via Twitter. To add an eSIM line, the operator manages the "Join Now" option in the My Verizon app. People using two lines will see the signal status of the second line in Control Center.
Apple enabled dual-SIM features for 2018 iPhones with the release of iOS 12.1 in October, but at that time no major US operators provided compatibility. AT & T finally started eSIM activations on Wednesday in parallel with the launch of iOS 12.1.1.
As with AT & T activation, it may take some transfers to get a customer service representative who knows the procedure. While investigating here, it took three different transfers to get someone who could help us on the phone.
Still missing in action is Sprint and T-Mobile, but both have promised to board. T-Mobile recently showed its eSIM activation app for a December issue.
