The Rainbow Six series has gone through some iterations, and the next one will be called Rainbow Six Extraction. Formerly known as Rainbow Six Quarantine, the game will be revealed on Ubisoft Forward. Ubisoft released a teaser trailer on Monday, along with a little more information about the game, and it looks pretty scary.
IN Rainbow Six Extraction, a spooky parasite has completely taken over a science lab. (In general, scientists should probably stop studying spooky animals in laboratories, because it absolutely never goes well.) This is a tactical co-op shooter based on the basics of Rainbow Six Siege, but without a focus on PvP combat.
Excerpt is the name of the game – literally, but also in the sense of the game. An important point of the game will be when you have to push yourself forward and try to dive deeper into the laboratory, or when you have to cut your losses and get away with all limbs attached. Another main theme is “no one left behind”, which suggests getting survivors out of the laboratory.
Rainbow Six Quarantine was first shown at E3 2019, and has been delayed to “increase development time.” Since 2020 was the year of the coronavirus pandemic, and many people were forced to lock themselves in, it seemed inevitable that the name would change, and now it’s official – although Ubisoft has not confirmed that this is the reason Why the name was changed. Ubisoft Forward launches E3 2021 at 2pm EDT June 12, with the spotlight on games like Watch Dogs: Legionextensions after launch.
