Top five Apple products in 2020

Although 2020 forced Apple to change the way it works with many employees working from home most of the year, Apple still managed to bring out a long list of new products over the past 12 months, refreshing most of the devices in the series and introduced new software.

In our latest YouTube video, we rounded up the top five products in 2020. Although there was plenty to choose from, there were several standouts such as the M1 Macs, iPhone 12 series, iPad Air, AirPods Max and Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro.

Magic keyboard

It may seem like forever, but back in March 2020, Apple debuted new iPad Pro models with updated camera technology that includes a LiDAR scanner for the first time, and along with the new ‌iPad Pro‌ models introduced the Apple Magic Keyboard.

Apple previously had a smart keyboard for iPads, but the Magic Keyboard is the best Apple-designed iPad keyboard to date. It has a scissor mechanism keyboard similar to the keyboard used for Apple Macs, and for the first time it has a trackpad.

The trackpad makes ‌iPad‌ more portable than ever, and Apple’s iPads are also now compatible with mice. Magic Keyboard also has a flexible float design that allows the screen to be adjusted, and it even works well in one go.

On the back, it’s priced from $ 300, which is incredibly expensive for a keyboard, and it does not fold back so you can not use it as a standard case when you do not need the keyboard.

iPad Air

The iPad Air was introduced in September 2020 and is Apple’s first device to have a full screen and Press ID, with a ‌Touch ID‌ fingerprint sensor built into the power button.

It also got a faster A14 chip before the A14 chip came to the ‌iPhone 12 til (although Apple eventually released the ‌iPad Air‌ and ‌iPhone 12‌ series at the same time), and it comes in a range of fresh colors that have not been used before for a PiPad‌.

Compared to previous generation ‌iPad Air‌ models, it got a ‌iPad Pro‌ style screen with slim frames, and with the A14 chip, ouchTouch ID‌ and new design, it’s a solid deal for the starting price of $ 599.

iPhone 12

Apple released four new iPhones this year, including a 5.4-inch iPhone mini, the smallest iPhone in many years designed for fans of smaller devices, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, the largest PiPhone to date. date.

All the new iPhones have a fresh ‌iPad‌ Pro-style design with square edges that mark a departure from the rounded edges we have seen in the ‌iPhone‌ series since ‌iPhone‌ 6.

All iPhones have OLED screens even at the low end, and have A14 chips that are incredibly fast. They all have great cameras, but the iPhone 12 Pro Max has the best camera setup, although both Pro models have the same LiDAR scanner that was first introduced in ‌iPad Pro‌.

PiPhone 12‌ models are also equipped with a ring of magnets inside which makes them compatible with a new technology called MagSafe, which is used to attach chargers and magnetic accessories. With agMagSafe‌, iPhones can be charged wirelessly up to 15 W, an improvement over the previous maximum charge of 7.5 W.

M1 Macs

At WWDC in June, Apple confirmed that they were working on their own Apple silicon arm-based chips, and in November, the first Apple silicon Macs were unveiled with “M1” chips. ‌M1‌ The Macs are without a doubt the most exciting new products that Apple has released in the Mac series in several years.

Before the launch, no one really knew what to expect from the ‌M1‌ Macs, but Apple simply surprised everyone incredible performance. In terms of single-core CPU speeds, the ‌M1‌ Macs outperform all other Macs on the market, and in terms of multi-core performance, they are on par with some of Apple’s advanced desktops.

Apple put its ‌M1‌ chip in the MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro and Mac mini, and despite the speed gain introduced with these chips, this is low-end Macs, with even more powerful chips expected for the 16-inch MacBook Pro, iMac and other machines in 2021.

AirPods Max

We did not expect AirPods Max until 2021, but Apple introduced them as a surprise in December. AirPods Max are Apple’s first Apple-branded earphones, and they turned out to be more expensive than some expected at $ 549.

PAirPods Max‌ has aluminum earplugs, mesh ear pads and a mesh headband, and although they are heavier than many other over-the-ear headphone options on the market due to their premium build, most people have found them to be comfortable.

IrAirPods Max‌ has all the features you expect from AirPods, such as fast pairing, fast device connection and large selection, plus active noise reduction, adaptive EQ and spatial sound. They sound good as they should for $ 549, and the battery life is decent at 20 hours.

The one real downside is the Smart Case, which has a curious design, provides no protection, and is generally seen as one of the worst cases that comes with a set of premium headphones.
