Tim Cook says Apple is considering whether it is the right answer to require employee vaccinations

Following the latest news that Google will demand that employees return to their offices in October to receive the COVID vaccine, Tim Cook has shared that the company continues to “monitor things daily” before deciding if it is “the right answer”. or not.”

Earlier this month, we learned that Apple is pushing the office back to at least October from the previously planned September period. This change comes in the middle of the COVID delta variant that is spreading rapidly around the United States.

Now that Google has announced that it will require employees on their way back to the office to be vaccinated, Tim Cook shared with CNBC̵

7;s Josh Lipton that it is not ready to make that decision yet, emphasizing that “the main focus right now is when they will return… ”

And by giving a little more context, Cook went on to say that “we monitor things every day to really conclude whether there is the right answer or not.”

Along with this decision that lies ahead of Cook and Apple, the company is also facing setbacks from employees who are not happy with the rejection of work from home.

Meanwhile, Apple has brought back a mask requirement for most of its US stores.

Apple also sent a message urging staff to be vaccinated in a letter seen by Bloomberg, but again has not decided to demand it for now:

“Apple encourages anyone who is eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine to take it,” the company wrote to retail employees. “Talk to your doctor and decide what is right for you.”
