Take a “culinary adventure through one of the game’s most beloved franchises”.
A recipe book based on culinary experiences found in Final Fantasy 14 is expected to be sold on November 9, 2021.
Although not yet formally announced by developer / publisher Square Enix, Wario64 discovered the entry for The Ultimate Final Fantasy 14 Cookbook on the Simon & Schuster website and was able to cross-reference it with another list that had appeared on Amazon ( thanks, Siliconera).
While the former encrypted to rename the entry as “Licensed Video Game Cookbook”
Taking us on a “culinary adventure through one of the game’s most beloved franchises”, the book will offer “fantastic photography and step-by-step instructions” to help Final Fantasy 14 fans recreate “some of this game’s most iconic dishes”. In addition to 192 pages and over 70 recipes, it also includes a foreword by director and producer, Naoki Yoshida, and is expected to sell for $ 35 – that’s around £ 25.

“With favorite flavors from all over Hydaelyn and Norvrandt and instructions that are easy to follow, this tome provides many tips on how to get the most out of your ingredients,” said the now deleted description. “Start the day with the farmer’s breakfast, a very famous and simple, yet delicious dish; enjoy the knight’s bread from Coerthas, dive into La Noscea’s cheesecake Rolanberry and many more.”
Of course, this is not the first time a cookbook has tried to take us through the culinary experiences of a video game. Donlan thought the Destiny cookbook was particularly special because it was written by video game food connoisseur Victoria Rosenthal and from the perspective of Eva Levante, who has traveled through the last city “and beyond the walls” to collect recipes.
“It’s a cookbook that serves two purposes and serves them very well,” Donlan wrote. “Firstly: it’s just an excellent cookbook. It has a useful glossary and a very good recipe for orange and lime rosemary salt. Secondly, it’s a nice walk around a universe that many people really like to spend time in. It has – the world’s mini-essays and lines like “Lemons can be so hard to find around the tower”. Can’t they, though? Thinking of marshmallows, Levante writes: “Sometimes the traveler reminds me of a big marshmallow … heard it least that it smells faintly of vanilla on the inside ‘. It’s great now. Handle it. “
