Arc System Works is preparing (guilty) for a new beta test for Guilty Gear Strive. On 18 February, the masses will be able to try out the game and several of the modes before it is launched on 9 April.
The company released details about the upcoming test this morning, and shared specific information about what all players will have access to with the beta, and when it will be live. Those who pre-order the digital version of the game on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will have the chance to play the beta a day earlier than anyone else.
“#GuiltyGearStrive Open Beta Test will be available on # PS4 & # PS5 from 7:00 PM PST 2/1
Those who choose to jump into the beta will be able to play as 13 of the 15 launch characters for Guilty Gear Strive. Anji Mito will not be available here, nor will the 15th fighter.
When it comes to modes, Arc System Works actually gives players the opportunity to try out quite a few of them. Strive beta will have local versus mode, training, training mode and network mode.
Beta’s online games will be played using feedback network code, and ArcSys notes that you will be able to enjoy matches with “response comparable to offline matches.”
Included on the screen during beta matches will be a pair of numbers at the top indicating both the ping time and the number of rollback frames that appear during a match. The company encourages beta testers to include the two numbers they see at the top of the screen when reporting online experience issues to better identify issues and improve the launch experience.
