Porsche celebrates its 70th anniversary of car construction this year, and it does in some ways. One of them is with the creation of the Project Gold Porsche 911 Turbo 993 which made its private debut on Pebble Beach. Another way Porsche marks the event is by taking the very first Porsche to carry the family name on its own, the original 356 prototype, on a world route to be displayed.
The trip started earlier this year with places in Europe, and now it is on the North American part of the trip. The first spot shown on our continent was during the Monterey Car Week at The Quail Motorsports Reunion and Pebble Beach Concours d 'Elegance. From there, it leads to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for luxury and Supercar Weekend on 8-9 September. There will also be a stop at Toronto Harbor that month. The last North American stop will be Rennsport Reunion on Laguna Seca Sept. 27-30. From there, it goes on to China.
If you are not familiar with this little Porsche, it is the first Porsche sports car company to have a registration mark. It is the precursor of the Porsche 356 sports car that was sold through the 1
950s and early 1960s to 911 was introduced. 0It contained a chassis chassis and a 1.1-liter VW brake engine with new cylinder heads as a steady horsepower of up to 35. The original car is not entirely original but slightly modified by its different owners. Porsche kept it in this form to maintain the car's history, but the company produced a restored example of the car's original body. That car will be shown at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart while the race car completes its global trip.
