It’s a new one Apex Legends event, and it brings in five new rotating game modes for a limited time. The event, War Games, starts on April 13 and lasts until April 27.
Each of the new modes in the War Games event will introduce specific modifiers to make things a little different from the standard Apex Legends camp royale. The Second Chance mode allows players to respond, Ultra Zones adds several different Hot Zones to each match – instead of the regular one – and Killing Time makes the match go a little faster each time a player dies.
The War Games event also comes with some cosmetic accessories for players. Players can compete in the rotating game modes to earn rewards that include an Epic Rampart skin and an Epic 30-30 skin, as well as five unlockable match-taking levels and daily XP challenges.
Apex LegendsThe ‘War Games’ event starts next week. Here is the complete schedule, along with Respawn’s description of each one:
New chance (Tuesday, 4/13 – Thursday, 4/15): This modifier kicks off, giving each Legend a free respawn per match; when a legend is killed, a Respawn Token is consumed to rise again from the player’s current location and retain all weapons and equipment. After a short duration, the player responds high in the air to jump back to the action.
Ultra zone (Thursday 4/15 – Monday 4/19): Get ready for more heat zones on a single map, and for more epic prey and gold items. Each Hot Zone is surrounded by a flash point – the huge, glowing bubbles that replenish HP and shields when you stand in them. In this mode, consumables are still available as normal through the loot pool.
Auto banners (Monday 4/19 – Wednesday 4/21): This modifier gives a fairly small but spicy change to the troop food return, and allows players to automatically download Squadmates Banner Cards! Players do not have to loot their death boxes to retrieve their banner cards – they can only go straight to a respawn lighthouse. The loot pool has been changed to include more Mobile Respawn Beacons as well.
Killing time (Wednesday 4/21 – Friday 4/23): This event accelerates the battle as legends fall; during a round, when a legend dies, the round time is reduced. If a given round is a massacre, the ring closes quickly, so players must keep an eye on the round timer to survive this modifier.
Armor Rain (Friday 4/23 – Tuesday 4/27): When the war games end, Armor Regen will regenerate over time at a rate of 12 points per second in this final mode. Each time players are injured, the armor will begin to regenerate after a delay of 8 seconds; this delay is doubled to 16 seconds if a player’s armor is cracked.
