Amazon’s brand new user experience update is rolling out to more Fire TV devices, starting today. Amazon calls this the “biggest experience update” they’ve ever made.
The company first announced the interface update in December, with only third-generation Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite devices receiving the update initially. The all-new Fire TV experience is now available on: Fire TV Stick (3rd generation), Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube (1st and 2nd generation) and Fire TV (3rd generation pendant design ). Support for Fire TV Stick (2nd generation) and Fire TV Smart TV will come later this year.
Changes with the update include a brand new home screen with more personalization. The main menu provides quick navigation to favorite streaming apps and previews of what is being played.
An enhanced search feature allows users to search for genres, free content, and series and movies that are already in the user’s content library.
The update also includes the ability to create profiles for each family member, with up to six profiles available per account. This means that everyone can get customized recommendations and their own watch list.
Your four TVs should automatically check for the update and install the update when not in use. To check for the update, go to the device settings, select My fire TV, select About and finally Check for updates.
