Considering that we all have it Staying indoors and social distancing, chances are you have a digital gift or virtual gift card this holiday season. The best way to use a gift card (or pick up a gift at the last minute) is to make sure you get a good discount. Therefore, we have gathered some of the best offers after Christmas on products we tested and like this year.
And if the too small sweater or the bulky headphones under the tree did not make your fine list, you can return everything.
Special offer for Gear readers: Get one 1 year subscription to WIRED for $ 5 ($ 25 discount). This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com and our print magazine (if you will).
Outdoor and training facilities
January is full of offers for fitness and outdoor equipment thanks to the newfound determination of people with New Year’s intentions. If the health-related gadget or gizmo you’ve been looking at isn’t on sale yet, it’s likely to be soon.
REI year-end sales: Up to 50 percent off: Almost all categories of outdoor equipment that REI sells are discounted. These kinds of great, comprehensive discounts are not particularly rare for REI, but they are the best times to see if any brand you like has any great deals. For example, we all swear by the Gear team for DarnTough socks, and some of the Hiker styles are discounted. They are extremely warm and good for cold weather (and backed by a lifetime warranty).
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 for $ 339 ($ 61 off): If you’re looking for an Apple Watch option, this is it. It has blood oxygen saturation measurements, an electrocardiogram, and you can do all the usual smartwatch features like step tracking and responding to alerts on your phone. It works on iPhones, but with limited functionality. If you do not want to spend too much, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is also a good option with a similar feature set at $ 200 ($ 70 off).
Fossil Gen 5E Men for $ 139 ($ 110 off) and Women for $ 139 ($ 110 off): This is the best deal we’ve seen on these relatively new watches, even better than Fossil’s Black Friday sale. At this price are the good options for checking alerts and basic training tracking, but the battery only lasts a day and they are not very fast.
Garmin Fenix 5 Plus Sapphire Edition for $ 350 ($ 400 off): This is not the last Garmin, but if you are a multi-athlete looking for a robust workout watch, this is a great option for sale. It offers topographic color maps, route tracking, altimeter and GPS functionality. It will also analyze your heart rate to tell you what activity level your body is ready for. The screen is protected by sapphire crystal, which is tougher to scratch than glass.
Beats Powerbeats Pro for $ 170 ($ 80 off): Do the earplugs fall off when you exercise? These last no matter what you do and have good sound quality and 9-hour battery life. Our review has more details.
Apple Watch Series 6 for $ 350 ($ 49 off): This is the best smartwatch if you have an iPhone. It can track sleep, oxygen saturation in the blood and the level of ambient noise around you, plus it has an ECG and can do much more. Read our review.
