If you were disappointed not to find a PlayStation 5 console under your Christmas tree yesterday, it may not be too late to get Sony’s new computer connected to your TV before the year is out.
Spiel Times has apparently heard from a number of employees in Target, who say that a new share is expected between tomorrow and Tuesday. It’s a bit of a lottery if your local target will be in stock for stock, but with sources telling the site that while some outlets get ten to 15 units, others will not get anything at all.
The Spiel Times says that several of the reports come from the Midwest region, but adds that they also hear from employees in the shops on the west coast, South Central and Southeast area, so it sounds like this could be a far-reaching PS5 stock drop.
Crucially, however, this stock does not reach store shelves, and apparently will only be available for purchase online, either to be delivered or picked up at the store.
So how can you have a better chance at what could probably be the last PS5 guy in 2020? Well, the first thing to note is that target updates tend to take place between 03:00 and 07:00 EST, but the Spiel Times notes that the two-hour window between 05:00 and 07:00 has been when previous PS5 updates has happened.
Obviously you should be logged in in advance, as you need to go fast if you see stock, and make sure your credit card and shipping information is filled out in advance. (So if you do not have a target account setup, now is the time to create a login). Anecdotally, some target PS5 buyers have had more luck using the store̵
Things have been pretty quiet at the PS5 warehouse over Christmas without any new consoles popping up in the usual places. Of course, if this report turns out to be correct and Target gets more units, it is possible that other retailers will follow suit. As always, if you’re still looking for a console, it’s best to bookmark where we can buy the PS5 tracker – we’ll update the page as soon as it’s back in stock at all the usual locations to save you from paying too much on an eBay scalp.
