After the developer Telltale Games’ studio closure in 2018, Tales from the Borderlands and other games by Telltale were removed from digital shop windows. One of Tellelltales most popular games, Tales from the Borderlands is an episodic, comic book-style game set in the Borderlands universe between the stories of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3. To the delight of fans, the game returns to digital store fronts on February 17, Borderlands developer Gearbox tweeted on Wednesday.
After the sudden closure of the studio, Telltale Games had removed most of the games from store fronts, and the developer stopped working on the unfinished Walking Dead game. “Tales from the Borderlands returns to store fronts on February 17, ”reads a tweet from Borderland’s Twitter account. “Put between Borderlands 2 and 3, Tales from the Borderlands follows the stories of Rhys, a Hyperion costume, and Fiona, a poet, on a quest carried by greed, but destined for greatness. ”
Despite its affiliation with the Borderlands series, Tales from the Borderlands does not require players to have knowledge of other Borderlands games or its world. As Polygon wrote in 2015, there are references and characters that will be familiar (and important!) To Borderlands fans, but it’s not necessary to know much.
