The Nintendo Direct-style presentation that preceded Gamescom brought the word on a trio of new Switch games that all released on that day. A new stream, this one from Nintendo of America, had only one such game, but it's amazing: Into the Breach.
Originally released earlier this year on PC, Into the Breach is the last title from Subset Games, the developer of the acclaimed FTL. The game is now available at Eshop for $ 15 / £ 11.39.
Into the Breach is a turn-based strategy game where you control three giant mechs with the task of defending an area from monsters. What makes it unique is the level of transparency with everything about the upcoming trip: You know exactly which order enemies will move in, what to do, and how much damage they will inflict. Likewise, you know the effect of your own actions; There is nothing random about how much damage you will do, for example. Combined with the ability to physically move devices and enemies around (so that you hit enemies of the map or make them attack each other), it all makes for an extremely satisfying experience unlike anything else.
