You thought to return favorites like Snake, Wolf and Ice Climbers would wait for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a difficult one. You assumed newcomers like Simon Belmont, Ridley and King K. Rool would make the months pass for an ice age. The game's crazy roster can serve as its main selling point, but the wait has become even longer thanks to some devastating, must-own peripherals.
While players will be able to purchase either physical or digital editions of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the game's official website has been updated with the disclosure of a special edition that comes in a stylish, matte black case (yes it's a SteelBook) that is emblazoned with the franchise's iconic logo. Oh, this edition comes with a black and white Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, also emblazoned with the symbol, because who wants to play the game with Joy Con Controllers? It's like playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl with Wii Remote or Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary with Kinect.
Of course, players can buy Pro Controller separately, but odds are most people will play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with a GameCube Controller, go-to controller for smashers since 2001
Mens Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Controllers and Controller Card are currently in advance to order on websites such as Best Buy, Amazon, EBGames, Target and Walmart, Special Edition and Digital Edition coming soon. Unless you live in the UK, Special Edition is already sold out.
