Super Smash Bros. Ultimate announces new fighter coming in March



Super Smash Bros. UltimateThe next fighter jet has been announced by Nintendo.

From the 2017s Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Pyra and Mythra will be added as a double sign next month. They fill the fourth of six tracks in Fighters Pass Volume 2, and will also be made available for purchase separately if you do not want to buy the entire passport.

Footage from the latest Nintendo Direct stream shows that Pyra and Mythra switch between each other at will during battle, so that the player can take advantage of their individual strengths.

Pyra is able to use fire-based features such as Flame Nova, Prominence Revolt and Blazing End, while Mythra’s light element attacks include Photon Edge, Ray of Punishment and Foresight.

Pyra and Mythra also have slightly different Final Smashes.

The duo’s addition to the list will be accompanied by a new scene taking place on the back of Titan Azurda, as well as a selection of music tracks from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Pyra and Mythra are not the first characters from Xenoblade franchise to star in Smash Bros, med Xenoblade Chronicles 1Shulk already mentioned among the cast.

Previous characters added Super Smash Bros. Ultimate through Fighters Pass Volume 2 includes Min Min from Arms, Steve and Alex from Minecraft, and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII.

Pyra and Mythra Smash Inclusion was one of many Switch announcements made during Nintendo Direct. Other highlights include Mario Golf: Super Rush and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD both come this summer – as well as the unveiling of Splatoon 3, which is scheduled for 2022.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available on the Nintendo Switch.
