After nine years of creating zany YouTube videos, podcasts and other game-related media, the creators of the Super Best Friends Play team have divided ways, terminated the partnership and completed the brand.
Montreal, Quebec-based trio announced the end to Super Best Friends Play in a video posted early Sunday morning. Matthew Kowalewski, Patrick Boivin and Woolie Madden recorded each video segment explaining the decision to bring their long-term partnership to completion, giving details about what to do next.
"Super Best Friends Play ends," said Madden. "It does not make it easier to hear, but we're just gonna be real with you: Matt and Pat are no longer friends."
Madden said that the business of Super Best Friends Play has hid the personal friendship between Kowalewski and Boivin as their original YouTube series was founded and it had become "less and less fun" for them to compile new content together.
"We are not all disappearing from the internet, or anything, Kowalewski said. "The Super Best Friends main channel will still be preserved online."
Furthermore, the three hosts have page projects and streaming channels that they will continue to use after eruptions.

Games on PC
Kowalewski and Boivin (who greeted thanks to his shared friendship with Madden) began contributing to Machinima, who hosted their Two Best Friends Play series that started them because of their growing popularity. They branched quickly and started making longer runs, let's play series, and while the couple focused primarily on console games, PC games were also evident in their diet – especially in October, when they had taken up another horror game every day in the lead to halloween.
Now that they have shared ways, they will each produce content on their own. Madden will focus on his YouTube channel, Woolie Versus, which he calls "a giant katamari of shitposts, reboot video essays, full LPs, and Kirby Lore." He also wants to stream on his Twitch channel twice a week. He has also launched a new podcast called Woolie Will Figure It Out.
Kowalewski will create more scripts and produce YouTube videos on his channel, Matt McMuscles Flophouse, where he plans to enter film and game reviews, stuff about his cats, and "edgy childhood retrospectives." He has also worked on an arcade game called The TakeOver, which is currently on Steam.
For his part, Boivin plans to focus on his Twitch channel, where he streams games with his girlfriend Paige and their cat, Elmo.
Super best friends leave a large amount of videos and podcasts, as well as countless memes. We look forward to seeing what they all do next.
