Apple announced on Tuesday that the annual developer conference will be held on June 7. Like last year, it will only be online due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The event lasts June 11 and is free for developers to participate.
WWDC, as the event is known, is where Apple usually presents its new software for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Mac. Sometimes it uses the events to introduce new hardware products, especially those who want to take advantage of the new software features.
The event is focused on developers who build apps for Apple products. However, this is often the first time the audience gets a sneak peek at new features coming to their devices. The software, which was announced in June, is usually launched in beta before the final launch in the autumn.
In 2020, Apple said it was moving from Intel processors to its own internal chips. It announced the first computers to use M1
Reports have recently indicated that Apple will announce new hardware products before WWDC 2021. For example, a new iPad is expected in April. But the company will also update its iMacs and other computers with its new processor. So it may make sense for Apple to introduce the new products in June if they do not arrive earlier.
