Square Enix surprised viewers during today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast by unveiling a brandnew game, the current title Project Triangle Strategy. The game will not be released until next year, but a demo is expected to hit the eShop later today.
Project Triangle Strategy (a working title) is the next game to fall under the Square Enix budding “HD-2D” umbrella, which follows in the footsteps of 2018 Octopath Traveler with its beautiful mix of old-school sprites and HD environments.
While the details under Direct were easy, Square describes Enix Project Triangle Strategy as a tactical RPG “full of choices and consequences”, which sounds nice Fire emblem to me. Players will gain an advantage over enemies during combat with clever use of height, flanking and associated attacks.
Square Enix plans to map players for feedback on Project Triangle Strategy demo, so be on the lookout for an opportunity to share your opinions with the developers.
