Spelunky 2s last trailer makes the game look as cute and intense as ever. One of the first things fans can notice is the more lively and modern style of the game. The sequel also has cute creatures to ride, online multiplayer and a live throw of characters: Ana Spelunky, Margaret Tunnel, Colin Northward and Roffy D. Sloth.
Let's look at the new Spillunky 2 movies!
Along with this video, PlayStation Blog sent a brief interview with Spelunky Creator Derek Yu. Do not expect Spelunky 2 to reinvent the wheel. Instead, this sequel has the intention to improve the formula. And more of the same is not necessarily a bad thing. Yu addressed this, saying:
Spelunky 2 is not so different, in fact. My opinion about sequelers is that they are extensions of previous games so I want fans of Spelunky 1 to jump in and feel that they are playing a continuation, both historically and mechanically. My big question was "What does Spelunky Spelunky ?" I wanted to figure out what these ideas were and take them to their limit without anything getting lost. Sometimes it means adding, sometimes it means remixing. It can also mean undermining expectations created by the original game.
While the fans are going to feel at home when they play Spelunky 2, the team has added "Floating Physics It's very fun to play with – combined with the destructive terrain [which results in] things like dynamic water or lava The world is breathing more, and so are all expected new areas, objects, monsters and traps. "
At the same time Spelunky 2 is intended to appeal to newcomers. It will be more of focus on the world and its history, rather than hitting energy in training programs. " Spelunky 2 wants to have very strong themes of family and friendship and I want new players to feel even when we make difficult obstacles."
Spelunky 2 is set to arrive in 2019 and comes first on PlayStation 4 and Steam. It can be played at the PlayStation fair at PAX West 2018.
