The Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus and S20 Ultra were three of the best Android phones in 2020, and are still good options to consider if you do not want to spend more than $ 700 on a new Samsung flagship. Unfortunately, it seems that some owners of Galaxy S20 phones are experiencing a serious screen problem that basically makes them unusable (via Android Police).
According to complaints from affected users on Samsung’s Community Forums, Reddit and YouTube, the problem causes the entire screen to turn green or white. Most of them say that they started noticing flickering problems a few days before the screens started to turn green or white. They also claim that their phones were not damaged in any way, so the cause of the problem is not clear.

While a moderator on the Samsung Community Forum has suggested that affected users boot their devices in safe mode to resolve the issue, it does not seem to help at all. A factory reset also makes no difference. If the problem is due to a software bug, Samsung is likely to issue an update with a solution for the Galaxy S20 series phones sometime in the near future.
Fortunately, the problem does not seem to be as widespread as the touch screen issues that affected the Galaxy S20 FE when it was first launched. Samsung had to roll out several software updates to fix ghost features and poor response. Some Galaxy S20 Ultra devices were also affected by a green tint last year, but the issue was soon resolved with an update. Similar issues were also reported by OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro owners.
Android Central has contacted Samsung for a comment and will update the story if the company responds.
