Streamer Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff has revealed his theory on how Warzone season 2’s teasers can lead to the destruction of Verdansk.
Almost every fighting king game on the market has multiple maps. Fortnite moved in on a brand new map for Chapter 2, and Apex Legends rotates from several maps that undergo significant changes each season.
Rebirth Island was added to the Warzone in December, but this smaller map was not designed to replace Verdansk’s great battle king action.
For several months, Call of Duty: Warzone players have been eager for a new full-scale map, and after season 2 teasers in Verdansk, NICKMERCS has a theory about how it will happen.
Warzone season 1 is set to end February 24th and teasers for season 2 are discovered in Verdansk. Lightning has appeared in the sky and strange machines asking players to “activate zombies” have been found in hospitals and stadiums.
Zombies came to Verdansk for last year’s Halloween event, and it looks like they will be back soon. While the machines asking players to “activate zombies” are not doing anything yet, NICKMERCS believes they will be the key to how Warzone will evolve into a new map.
Since secret bunkers containing atomic bombs began to appear in the Warzone, “there’s always a conversation about a big blow that hits the map.” As NICKMERCS explains, a zombie outbreak would be the perfect reason to monitor Verdansk.
“Taking over zombies, we drop the core, blow up the map, and we go somewhere else.”
With players expecting an event in the game to start season 2, a Zombie-infected Verdansk escapes before being nuked sounds both very likely and exciting.
It is anything but confirmed that Warzone after Verdansk will move to the Ural Mountains. This location is the map for Black Ops Cold War’s Fireteam: Dirty Bomb (which Verdansk was for Modern Warfare’s Ground War) and was mentioned in the post-credits scene for Firebase Z Easter Egg.
As we approach season 2, you can expect more teasers and Easter eggs to be discovered around the Warzone map.
