Sega has just announced that pre-registration is now open for its upcoming Revolve8 game on the Play Store.
Revolve8 is a real-time strategy game that takes place in Imago's fictional world. This is a world of folklore and adventure, so expect to see reimagined versions of Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Sinbad, Snow White, and many others.
Warriors are fought every 100 years in Imago, where victories can rewrite their stories and become famous. You fight these battles with a card with eight cards, which contain different classes and skills with different effects and weaknesses.
You only have three minutes to destroy your opponent's tower. It can't seem that much time, but the game in real time should allow players to get the job done.
Even more exciting are some of the names associated with Revolve8. Senior producer Masayoshi Kikuchi has previously worked on the Yakuza series, while cartoonists Koji Igarashi are known for their work on the Castlevania series. Finally, the sound producer Yasunori Mitsuda has previously worked with Chrono Trigger and Xenogears.
Revolve8 will first launch January 17 in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. The game will then come to Japan on January 22. The game is now starting February 5 in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Turkey, South Africa, and more.
From what we can collect, Revolve8 is a stand-alone game. We do not know what the purchases in the app look like, but the apparent lack of an energy meter in the game is encouraging.
