While the Bluetooth versions of Samsung's new Galaxy Watch were announced together with prices and release dates, the details of the mobile versions became vague. It changed today: Samsung has revealed that LTE Galaxy Watches will each sell with a $ 50 premium over Bluetooth models, and will start delivering during the "week of September 2, 2018."
Galaxy Watch is renamed sequel to Samsung's Gear S3 series of smartwatches, now available in smaller 42mm and classic 46mm sizes – the previous with 45 promised hours of battery life over the last 80 hours. Each version is waterproof to 50m depth and comes with 4GB of built-in storage.

With today's announcements, customers now have the following Galaxy Watch choice:
During the unpacked event of Galaxy Watch, Samsung said that all four US carriers would offer the LTE model, but from now on listings on Samsung's website are solely for T-Mobile. Other mobile operators will probably offer Galaxy Watch through their own stores and websites.
T-Mobile models are listed to support 10 Mbps data rates on Band 2 (1900), Band 4 (AWS), Band 5 (850), Band 12 (700), Band 13 (700), Band 25 1900), band 26 (850) and ribbon 66 (AWS-3). They use a built-in SIM card for network connectivity and are specified as no different in size or battery capacity from the Bluetooth versions.
However, due to the high current drainage of the mobile chip on the smaller 270mAh battery, Samsung only promises "up to 2 days" with typical use for the 42mm LTE model, down from "up to 3 days" for 42mm Bluetooth version. By comparison, both the Bluetooth and LTE 46mm models promise "up to 4 days" with typical usage with its larger 472mAh batteries.
Samsung initially said that Bluetooth models should send to preorderers from August 24th. For pre orders placed today, Bluetooth models are now expected to ship during the same week on September 2 timeframe as LTE models. The company currently offers a free watch band – one per model, including Urban Traveler, Urban Dress Band and Essex Leather Band – as a preorder bonus.
