In general, I feel very much like an unboxing done by the company that designed, built and markets a particular device, is a bit on the weird side, but can still be useful. This is certainly the case with the latest video released by Samsung for the upcoming Galaxy Chromebook 2. This is an unboxing in just the most technical sense, and serves more as an enhanced product spotlight versus a video that actually provides some sort of meaningful touch on the new Chromebook.
There is little addressed here that is not already covered other than showing off some of the exact pieces that are in the box itself. Oh, you get to see that box too. Other than that, this is really just a little more visual candy to look at while we wait for the actual release of the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2.
There’s one thing I picked up from this video, and it is the fact that the lid appears to be opened with one finger lift. I know this does not mean anything to many of you out there, but this little feature is a big deal when it comes to weight distribution and general attention to detail. The Chromebook I feel the Galaxy Chromebook 2 competes most directly with is the Pixelbook Go, and that device has a very satisfying hinge that opens with one finger. I really hope it’s a legitimate part of the Galaxy Chromebook 2 experience and indicates what kind of Chromebook we should expect in Samsung’s latest.
