Samsung came into an immediate action when OnePlus eradicated it earlier this year to sell relatively more devices in the premium smartphone category. Since then, the company has doubled on the foot in the premium category after meeting an existential challenge at entry level and budget price categories. In order to maximize efforts aimed at winning back customers who fled elsewhere, ruled by OnePlus and Xiaomi, Samsung found a subtle way to lure buyers with features that were previously unaware of. Samsung Galaxy A7 is a testimony of the experiment.
Samsung Galaxy A7 is the company's first smartphone to train three cameras. In the first place, it sounds like a news that will attract customers, but turn out to be just a gimmick. But that's the opposite. The three cameras are the three pillars of the smartphone which make it one of the valued camera smartphones in the price category. We say that because it should ideally be a Galaxy S or Galaxy Note device to announce the first time in the specification list, but Samsung puts great hopes on the Galaxy A7 with three cameras. Priced at Rs 23,990 for the base model, the Galaxy A7 is here to accept rivals with lucky number 3. Will Galaxy A7 happiness bear fruit for the company? Let's find out. Samsung Galaxy A7 Design, Display and Hardware
Samsung Galaxy A7 is located right outside the bat, a well-crafted piece of glass and metal. bodies. The 2.5D glass on the back gives the handset a first-rate look, which reasonably justifies the price and "premium" tag attached to it. Of course, it's significantly better than the 201
A metal frame is sandwiched between the two glass blocks and houses all the physical buttons on the device. The building is sturdy despite the use of glass on both sides, which brings us to one of its by-products – the weight. But the Galaxy A7 is not very heavy – you will not feel the weight a lot while texting, watching videos or surfing. We've got the black color model out of the three – Black, Blue and Gold, but it looks gray, mainly because of the light that hits the surface.
The rear of the Galaxy A7, the three cameras have vertically equipped the island, supported by a dual-tone LED flash just below it. It's Samsung logo emblazoned against the upper center. Usually there is a fingerprint sensor on the back of Samsung devices, but as we mentioned, the Galaxy A7 marks the introduction of many first time, it has been moved. The Galaxy A7 has the fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button located on the right side with a small concavity. The volume of rockers is an inch above the power button. On the left side, the SIM tray's silo has three tracks – two for SIM and one for the microSD card. At the top there is a secondary microphone while the bottom edge has 3.5 mm headphone jack, micro USB port, main microphone and speakers.
Samsung earlier this year, AMOLED displays brought about as much as the Galaxy J series located in the lower middle and upper spaces. And when a smartphone goes uphill to reach the price points with a value higher than Rs 20,000, many things are automatically expected to improve. The Samsung Galaxy A7 has a 6 "full HD + Infinity Display that uses AMOLED panel, which means that color rendering gets richer, more vibrant than the previous models are missing. Samsung earns brownie points for not having bowed to "hack race" in the industry, and we hope it stays that way.
The screen as large as this has been plugged into the Galaxy A7 fascia despite its relatively fine footprint. It has a 18: 9 format with thin brackets on the left and right sides, but just the opposite on top and bottom. The display produces rich colors, but a little bit elevated sometimes, but you can change it in the settings. The default display mode is set to "Adaptive Display" which ideally is best for what kind of content you want to see on the screen. The sunshine readability is good at full brightness – you do not have to slide your eyes to read finer texts.
Ever since Xiaomi was called out to miss the Widevine L1 DRM standard on its flagship Poco F1, all other smartphone makers make sure they're screaming about their presence on their respective phones. The Samsung Galaxy A7 supports the Widevine L1 standard, which means you'll be able to play Netflix and Amazon Prime videos in full HD resolution.
Samsung Galaxy A7 Cameras
Before we jump to the part where the cameras come out as winners of the Galaxy A7, let's consider some undeniable facts. The first smartphone that has three cameras is the Huawei P20 Pro that launched earlier this year. It is a flagship company that introduced the world to the existence of two cameras. Of course, it's a fierce price tag, rightly because it offered neck and neck competition to iPhone X and Pixel 2 back when it was run through tests. The Samsung Galaxy A7, on the other hand, is much cheaper than the Huawei P20 Pro, which means the results will be watered down. But if we exclude the existence of the Huawei P20 Pro completely, the Galaxy A7 will amaze you with how the cameras work.
There are three sensors – a 24 megapixel f / 1.7 sensor, a 5 megapixel f / 2.2 depth sensor and an 8 megapixel f / 2.4 sensor with 180 degree ultrasonic lens. While the first two sensors do the same job of giving the Bokeh effect, the third sensor is MVP for the cameras. However, Samsung utilizes all three sensors to optimize a photograph by capturing details as much as possible. Samsung has also included the Scene Optimizer mode of the Galaxy A7 that tweaks the settings to find the best layout for a particular scene.
The primary 24-megapixel sensor captures good images that are not missing detail and are rich in color, but slightly colored tinted. In daylight exposure is optimal and the camera is quick to focus on the subject. The best thing about the pictures taken in the daylight is the detail level – zooming into the pictures shows small objects caught in the frame. However, the quality suffers when the camera is used indoors. Detailed camera quality conservation goes a little downhill. The best way to overcome this problem is to adjust the brightness of the scene. For example, on a very sunny day, things with bright colors tend to be overexposed, and it is therefore recommended to adjust the brightness. This also applies to indoor shots where the light is not as much available, unless you have things with shiny surface that is scattered around your room.
The other 5 megapixel sensor is to offer the Bokeh effect to the pictures taken by the primary. We found the depth of the images to be just above average. The images have the edges of the subject in focus with the defocused background in more than one place. That said, sometimes the pictures look very good.
The third 8-megapixel camera is what is being spied to shake things up. It's an ultra-wide lens – known as full-frame fisheye lens used in DSLR cameras to play around with scenes (landscape, panorama, etc.) To display some artwork. This sensor covers a larger area in the frame – sometimes it showed myself the fingertips I put on the upper back to secure the grip.
Ideally, the wide-angle lens will be convenient if you want to snap a large group of people in a frame or the scenic beauty of a landscape is too convincing to leave the sideways objects. And while you do not want to trim sideways, you have to compromise for distortion. The objects or objects on the outer ends of a photographic look are staggered and ascended radially, which is why you may want to keep the subject in the center. Talk about quality, the images taken by the ultra-thin lens are sharp, but do not hold details as much as the primary sensor.
Coming to the selfie camera, Samsung has gone for the same 24 megapixel sensor, but with another larger aperture of f / 2.0. Selfies look good when it comes to sharing them on social media websites and apps. The level of detail is also decent, except that the skin tones look highly smoothed, even though the Beauty Mode is turned off. But, as said, selfies are good at going on Instagram and other social networking platforms. There is also an LED flash provided on the front, so you do not have to look for a place that is richly filled with lights to click selfies.
It's HDR support for all sensors and you can get the best of this feature while taking scenes with two opposite shades of light. The videos on the primary cameras and selfie cameras have up to 1080p resolution without the ability to scale them up to 60fps. The videos are of good quality and fairly stabilized.

[Samsung Galaxy A7 Performance] and Battery
Samsung Galaxy A7 is powered by the company's internal Exyno 7885 processor clocked up to 2.2 GHz with up to 6GB of RAM. As a medium-sized smartphone, the Galaxy A7 fell short of requirements when it comes to handling all kinds of applications and games. The handset starts to stem when we opened heavy apps and switched between them all the time. But this happened only once or twice. Also while playing games like PUBG, Asphalt 9: Legends, the handset began to warm slightly after 30-35 minutes. There were no teams, anyway, in the game, but we noticed some frame discussions while playing Asphalt 9: Legends.
The fingerprint scanner, now mounted on the power button, is difficult. It unlocks the device quickly, but sometimes refuses to read the thumb. The reason we used fingerprints is the practical use of the sensor. We also found that you do not have to press while pressing the power button as the moment it touches it, the phone is unlocked. This is quite comfortable, but you will get used to it for a while. It's Face Unlock also available on the Galaxy A7 – it's not as advanced as using iris recognition though. It works fine even in low light conditions.
The Galaxy A7 speaker is above average and nothing special about it. However, it may be quite high when you turn on console mode in the audio settings. Samsung has provided Dolby Atmos audio technology on the Galaxy A7, but it's only limited when using headphones. The voice calls made on the handset are loud and clear.
Samsung sends Galaxy A7 with Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience 9.0 skin on top. It is the same experience as the other Samsung smartphones with the same user interface. There are some preloaded apps like Amazon Prime Video, Dailyhunt, Google Apps, and Microsoft Apps that you can uninstall if you want. The handset comes with Bixby Vision support in the cameras to allow to identify objects by just placing a camera in front of them. It also has the Bixby Home screen that often shows used features and content from different apps. But the Bixby 2.0-speaker is not available on the Galaxy A7.
The Fueling Galaxy A7 is a 3300mAh non-removable battery. In the test consisting of use of the Internet, social media and chat apps for more than four hours, games play for approx. 40 minutes, watching an hour long movie on Netflix, and clicking on photographs for about half an hour, the battery was a little more than half a day. We needed to charge it twice in one day, which takes around 2 hours to charge. There is no USB Type C port on this handset, which is a disadvantage for many potential buyers who go mid-range.
Samsung Galaxy A7 is a pretty decent device if you can overlook the performance instabilities that the company can fix with a software update. The cameras have wow facts on the Galaxy A7, and you'll probably roast pictures taken by them. The premium design of the smartphone is impressive and should meet your wish for a nice phone for the money you pay.
The basic model of the Galaxy A7 costs Rs 23,990 while the top model is priced at Rs 28,990. For all it's worth, it's only sensible to go for the top model if you let the mobile photographer in you empty the reasonable buyer, as more storage means more images. But you can get it by adding the microSD card to the base variant that is Rs 5000 cheaper. The Samsung Galaxy A7 is available via both online and offline channels across India.
