Rocket League Sideswipe Screenshots
Rocket League became a phenomenon when it was released for free as part of PlayStation Plus in 2015, and the competitive car football game still has enormous popularity. Rocket League developer Psyonix was acquired by Epic Games in 2019, and Rocket League became a free-to-play game shortly thereafter.
In the Rocket League, players control cars on a court with the goal of, well, scoring goals using a giant ball. Boosters and acrobatic skills help players create amazing tricks. Cars can also be customized with cosmetics for a more personal touch.
The screenshots of Rocket League Sideswipe show a similar style of play, but the perspective is now horizontal instead of a full 3D map. However, there still seem to be customization options for cars, although it is unclear whether these cosmetics will be transferred to the console and PC versions of the Rocket League.
Take a look at IGN’s Rocket League review here for more on Psyonix’s popular online sports / car hybrid. Rocket League Sideswipe will begin a Regional Limited Alpha test on the Google Play Store today in Australia and New Zealand. It will be available for free to play later this year on iOS and Android.
