Resident Evil Village Showcase announced as new demonstration files apparently appear

Capcom has announced a Resident Evil Village showcase for April 15, and files for a new ‘gameplay demo’ appear to have been uploaded to PlayStation Network. Capcom announced on Twitter that the showcase will feature a new trailer and gameplay, “along with a few other surprises” 15. April at 15 Pacific / at. 18 East / 23:00 UK (it’s April 16 at 8 AEST).

These surprises may include the promised second demo for Resident Evil Village (which will be multi-platform). MP1st reports that files for a new demo have been uploaded to the PlayStation Networks backend, calling it a “Gameplay Demo” (presumably to differentiate from the previous Maiden demo, which was more of an interactive experience, with no game included).

MP1st reports that the files are around 10 GB in size, and include Vita Remote Play controllers, which suggests that it can be played on PS4, PS5 or Vita. The Maiden demo was released along with the latest showcase, so it feels likely that Capcom will repeat that trick. We run an IGN First for Resident Evil Village throughout April, giving you an exclusive look at the game you will not see anywhere else. We have already shown games on PS4 Pro, and drive you through the development of Lady Dimitrescu, and we have much more to come.

An open beta for the game’s multiplayer mode, RE: Verse, can be played right now, and it feels likely we’ll see more of it in the showcase. It is possible we can also learn more about the live-action film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, which will recreate the first two games as a single film.
