The game was shown in 4K on PS4 Pro, and 4K resolutions and HDR will also be supported for Xbox One X as well.
Rockstar Games has finally released the first Red Dead Redemption 2, video, and if you have not seen it, you should definitely check it out. The game is a treat for the eyes, and for those who felt the same way they looked at it (which must be all), we have an extract of info for you – the game was taken on PS4 Pro.
Shortly after the video was released, PlayStation Blog managed to record the recordings on PS4 Pro. The game was shown in 4K resolutions on the console, but we still do not know how accurate it was designed to run in this resolution. Our guess is that any cross-field rendering method was used to run the game at this resolution on this console.
As for the Microsoft page of things, if you own an Xbox One X, you will be able to run the game on 4K resolutions, along with HDR support too, but we do not know if there are any big differences in visual quality between the two consoles. Of course, we know this because Microsoft has mentioned this information on its own page that shows all games that will / will contain Xbox One X enhancements.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set for release for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26th.
