After debuting in Microsoft's early game preview Game Preview last year, PUBG is finally set to beat 1.0. As part of a special Inside Xbox episode to kick Gamescom 2018, Microsoft revealed details of what's coming to the Xbox One version of the game soon.
PUBG Exits Game Preview with release of the 1.0 update on September 4th. Bringing a lot of new content, the most important of this is a new map. Sanhok is less than what the players are used to, measuring only 4km x 4km (as opposed to standard 8×8).
Also on September 4th are achievements, which are transferred from the Game Preview version. PUBG Corp will also introduce customized games support so you can set up your own matches as desired and a special mode that PC players have seen before: War mode. This represents a big change from the usual PUBG formula as it introduces respawns.
Another important component of the 1.0 release is in-game currency. Among the things that can be purchased with it are cosmetics and the Sanhok event. The latter allows you to unlock assignments, rewards on Sanhok and more. More details on how this will work on Xbox will be shared "closer to 1.0 launch."
The 1.0 release comes with a new DLC package, Xbox # 1.0 / 99 set, which comes with exclusive clothes and accessories. If you already own the game, you will receive this for free.
Hitting 1.0 will not mark the end of the development on PUBG for Xbox One. With this milestone reached, PUBG Corp says that it will focus on bringing over other content from the PC version as quickly as possible.
Along with 1.0's news, Microsoft announced a special PUBG theme Xbox One Controller is on its way. It sports a custom design and grabs for the first time on the trigger.
