PSA: the latest iOS update fixes security bugs, so install it as soon as you can

Putting off iOS updates for a week or two is generally fine, but it’s probably a good idea to download the latest one, iOS 14.4.2, as soon as you can. It fixes a security flaw that Apple claims may have been exploited in nature (via MacRumors). The update also applies to iPadOS, so take a few minutes a day to go to Settings> General> Software Update.

According to Apple’s update notes, the security flaw allowed universal scripting across websites. In other words, a malicious website or script can access information from other websites you have accessed, which is not good, especially since Apple says some websites can do this.

As I said back in January when Apple released a similar update, this does not mean it̵

7;s time to lock your phone completely and treat it as radioactive until you can get it updated. Just stay away from sketchy websites (which are good advice in general) and update your phone sooner rather than later.
