Preview: WhatsApp compatibility with multiple devices on the desktop app

WhatsApp has been testing compatibility with several devices for a while. Now, WABetaInfo managed to show how this is going to work on the desktop app.

When compatibility with multiple devices for WhatsApp is available, users will be able to connect up to four devices and one mobile phone. The big deal with this feature is that you can use WhatsApp on your Mac even without an internet connection on your phone.

As you can see in the image above, this is what appears when the compatibility for multiple devices is available:

Call and send messages without connecting to the phone. Use WhatsApp on up to 4 devices simultaneously.

Recently, in an interview with Facebook̵

7;s Mark Zuckerberg and WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart, they said that “it has been a great technical challenge to get all messages and content synchronized.”

This is probably the way WhatsApp will finally release an iPad version, as it has been rumored for about three years now.

Currently, the compatibility of several devices is still under development, but will soon be available for beta testers.

WhatsApp launches version 2.2126.11 of its web and desktop clients with a disappearing feature and a new archive tab. With the disappearance feature, users can send pictures and videos that disappear after the other user sees them.

Other than that, when you archive a conversation and the person sends you a message again, it will remain in that category. You can read more about it here.
