Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu / Eevee Bring Back Mega Evolutions

Alolan shapes will not be the only Pokemon variants available in Pokemon: Let's go, Pikachu and Let's go, Eevee. The last issue of the CoroCoro magazine (via Pokemon fansite Serebii ) has shown that the upcoming Nintendo Switch games will also contain Mega Evolutions, the powerful transforms introduced in Pokemon X and Y. Update: Pokemon Company has shared a new English trailer for Let's Go games, showing Mega Evolutions in action.]

Details are small at the moment but it seems that Mega Evolutions will work much the same as they do in X and Y and their follow-up, Pokemon Sun and Moon. In these titles, players must equip a Mega Stone to a similar Pokemon, which will allow it to Mega Evolve once per match. Along with a new look, Mega Evolving often changes a Pokemon type and gives it a significant boost.

CoroCoro reveals that the original three starter Pokemon ̵

1; Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise – will be able to Mega Evolve in Let's Go Games. This will probably also extend to other Gen 1 Pokemon capable of Mega Evolving, such as Pidgeot, Alakazam and Gengar, although they are not yet confirmed. It is also again to see if Let's Go games will introduce new Mega Evolutions to the series.

In addition, the new issue of CoroCoro shared the first pictures of Lt. Surge, Gym Director for Vermilion City. Just like in anime, he can be seen fighting with Raichu. The magazine also gives a new look at the back Jessie and James of Team Rocket. This time it seems that the duo challenger players are in a double match.

Let's go, Pikachu and Let's go, Eevee's launch for the Nintendo Switch November 16th. The games will coincide with a Poke Ball-shaped controller called Poke Ball Plus, which comes with the mythical Pokemon Mew.
