Pokemon Go’s August Community Day will be held over two days instead of one, developer Niantic has announced. The event takes place August 14-15 and includes Eevee, which gives you another chance to get some shiny Eevee evolutions.
Like the famous Pokémon, Eevee will appear more often in nature than usual throughout the weekend, which means that you also have a greater chance of finding a shiny one. Any shiny Eevee that you develop will retain its shiny color, making this a great opportunity to add some shiny Eevee evolutions to your collection.
In addition, Niantic makes it easier to get Sylveon. Usually you have to earn 70 hearts when Eevee is set as a buddy to develop it into Sylveon. For August Community Day, however, Niantic reduces the number of buddy hearts you need to earn to just seven.
Eevee will also learn another Community Day-exclusive feature, depending on what form you develop it into. Any Eevee that you develop between 13 and 16 August is automatically aware of the following attacks:
- Vaporeon: Scald
- Jolteon: Zap Cannon
- Flareon: Superpower
- Espeon: Shadow Ball
- Umbreon: Psychic
- Leafeon: Bullet Seed
- Glaceon: Water pulse
- Sylveon: Psyshock
As usual, a few bonuses will also be live during August’s community day. First, any lure modules and incense you use during the event time will remain active for three hours. On top of that, eggs placed in incubators will hatch at a quarter of their usual distance. Finally, Niantic will be selling a special Community Day package in the in-game Pokemon Go store. The package costs 1280 PokeCoins and includes the following:
- 50 Ultra Balls
- 5 Incense
- 1 Elite FastTM
- 1 Elite ChargedTM
Every day in August the community day weekend will run from 11.00 to 17.00 local time. You can read more information about the event on the official Pokemon Go blog.
Meanwhile, Niantic has lined up three Ultra Unlock events for Pokemon Go. Ultra Unlock Part 1: Time starts on July 23 and features Pokemon from various eras, including Shiny Dialga. Ultra Unlock Part 2: Space follows from August 6 and contains Pokemon from different regions, as well as Shiny Palkia. The third and final Ultra Unlock event begins on August 20, but Niantic is keeping details of it under wraps for now.
