After a tweet by General Manager of Poco India yesterday, suggesting a new smartphone, many people expected the device to be the successor to Poco F1. But earlier today, the company confirmed in a tweet that the surprise is not a new phone, but an Armored Edition Poco F1 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
If you have forgotten, the Poco F1 Armored edition with Kevlar is not new but was limited to the very best variant with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Now Poco has also brought it to the lower version. It still has the same 6.18-inch screen, which comes with a resolution of 1080 x 2248 pixels with a 19: 9 aspect ratio. Under the cap, the device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 chipset along with an Adreno 630 GPU. In the camera department, the unit has a combination of 12 MP and 5 MP sensor on the back and a 20 MP selfie shooter on the front.
By making Armored Edition available in the lower version, the company aims to sell more units by targeting a larger number of people who generally choose a lower variant of the phone. The new Armored Edition goes on sale at Mi store and Flipkart starts tomorrow at a price of Rs 23,999.
At a time when it is getting tougher to keep a smartphone's durability longer, businesses are trying all the tricks to lure users and keep their smartphone relevant. This includes introducing newer color variations, newer RAM / storage variants and likes. While Poco F2 is not necessarily far from launch, Poco F1 is still a great choice for many people considering it is still the cheapest smartphone with the flagship Snapdragon 845 processor.
