OWC unveils two new multi-port docks for Mac and PC

In addition to an SSD of 2800 MB / s, OWC has also announced two new docks for Mac and PC: the USB-C Travel Dock E and the new Thunderbolt Dock. The former is designed to make travel connectivity options more robust, while the latter will add more options to the permanent desktop.

OWC Travel Dock E

USB-C Travel Dock E claims to both reduce adapter problems and at the same time compress the size of the dongle hub into a nice solution with hockey puck size. It contains six ports: USB 3 Type-A, HDMI 2.0, SD card reader, gigabit Ethernet and USB-C with 100W power throughput. It is based on the OWC Travel Dock and maintains the five ports offered there, while also adding the gigabit Ethernet port, which seems to be the main selling point for this product compared to the original.

If you are looking for a travel dock that offers an Ethernet port for your laptop, which is now probably too slim for such a port to be built in, it seems that OWC has you covered. Travel Dock E adds a $ 10 premium to the original Travel Dock’s $ 55 price, so you’ll have to pay a little more to get closer to the extra port. Travel Dock E is available immediately for $ 65.

OWC Thunderbolt Dock

If you are looking for a single hub to manage all the thunderbolts and USB devices in your home, OWC’s Thunderbolt Dock is a solid solution. If you are addicted to a Thunderbolt ecosystem, this dock has a lot to offer.

In all, the Thunderbolt Dock has 11 ports in total: four thunderbolt ports, four USB ports, an SD card reader, gigabit ethernet and combo audio in / out. The dock provides access to all of these ports via a single cable to a Mac or PC.

Using the latest Thunderbolt technology, OWC Thunderbolt Dock enables users with 11th generation Core and Evo PCs with Thunderbolt 4, existing Macs or new M1-based Macs to add a mix of ports, including additional Thunderbolt ports, “says the company.

OWC Thunderbolt Dock’s biggest selling point is access to the four Thunderbolt ports that also support USB devices and monitors, while offering 90 W power supply.

The OWC Thunderbolt Dock is available immediately for $ 250.
