‘OnePlus Band’ training tracks are reportedly coming in 2021

OnePlus fans have been demanding a smartwatch from the company for many years now, and 2021 will be the year that finally delivers it. Before that happens, however, the training tracker “OnePlus Band” is reportedly set to debut.

The people over at Android Central reports that onePlus sometime in Q1 2021 will release a training track that will be called “OnePlus Band.” This is apparently a separate device from the company’s upcoming smartwatch that offers a training-focused, barebones experience.

This “OnePlus Band” is a competitor to the Xiaomi Mi Band series that we have previously covered. Our Damien Wilde called the latest Xiaomi Mi Band 5 a “winning formula”

; that provides good functionality at a very low price. OnePlus’ training tracks will apparently try to use the same formula with a price point of around $ 40 or so while using an OLED screen, offering water resistance and multi-day battery life while you can track basic training statistics.

It is unclear if this means that the training tracker and the smartwatch will be announced by OnePlus at about the same time, but it makes sense that this training tracker will reportedly make his debut in India only before they go to other regions. The report claims that a launch in January or February is possible based on the information received, suggesting that the training tracker may arrive well in advance of the OnePlus 9 launch event.
