At The Game Awards 2018, Obsidian Entertainment made waves by announcing a new, single-player RPG called The Outer Worlds . As the developer behind Fallout: New Vegas which many consider as one of, if not the best Fallout game in series' history, it was always going to be of interest to Fallout fans. Men, en feature in particular really has Fallout fans feeling excited.
The Outer Worlds feature that really has Fallout fans talking is its dialogue system. In screenshots on the game's official website, Obsidian confirmed that its new title would feature multiple dialog options when talking to NPCs. For eksempel, under en samtale med en karakter kaldet Berke, siger han, "du er kraftfrit med din egen tuning." Spillere kan reagere på en af tre måder, herunder: at skræmme Berke ved at spørge "hvad skal du gøre om
Dialogue systems are not unheard of or in RPGs, but Fallout fans are especially excited because it seems to be a throwback to "classic" Fallout games. One of the reasons why people enjoyed Fallout: New Vegas so much is because of its dialogue options. So, to see that same design preserved in The Outer Worlds is being considered as a reason to celebrate.
The Outer Worlds also follows the significant controversy surrounding Fallout 76 . Mens de game har mer nylig gjort overskrifter for sine merchandise problemer, er den faktiske spillet indhold ikke vindende fans over enten. The series' shift to online multiplayer has brought with it lag and technical issues and fans are not thrilled about the lack of NPCs either. Fallout 76 's world is mostly populated by robots and other, human players, leaving some fans sorely missing that classic NPC interaction.
The Outer Worlds 'outer space setting means that it may not be a Fallout game when it comes to any lore similarities, but the game is from the developer of Fallout: New Vegas as well as Feargus Urquhart and Tim Cain, the directors of the original Fallout. This means that The Outer Worlds should appeal well to fans hankering for a Fallout -style single-player RPG experience to sink their teeth into. The response to the dialogue system screenshot confirms at least that it succeeds on that front.
The Outer Worlds is currently in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox, and set to launch sometime in 2019.
