Nintendo continues to support UK gaming stores | UK Boxed Charts

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is again No. 1

Animal Crossing: New Horizons secures its third number 1 in a row in the UK boxing map.

Nintendo Switch exclusive secures its place at the summit despite a 24% drop in sales weekly. It’s another week where Switch dominated the boxing business in the UK, with Mario Kart 8: Deluxe at No. 2 (sales down 23%), Super Mario 3D World at No. 8 (sales down 3%), new Super Mario Bros U at No. 9 (sales down 15%), and Ring Fit Adventure at No. 1

0 (down 37%). There are 10 Switch games in the 20 best-selling games.

Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2021 is number 3 despite a 29% sales decline. This week, 87% of the game’s sales were on the Nintendo Switch.

Switch proves to be the savior for British boxers. During the first two weeks of 2021, game sales increased by 27.4% compared to the same period last year, and this is almost down to games for the Nintendo Switch (overall, Switch game sales are up 120% so far this year). Sales of PlayStation games will also increase slightly if we combine PS4 and PS5 game sales together.

The only game in the top ten that increased sales each week was the ever-popular Grand Theft Auto 5, which rises four places to No. 4 due to a sales increase of 6%.

There’s only one new game on the charts this week, and it’s the first new game to break the Top 40 in 2021. Five Nights At Freddy’s: Core Collection makes # 32, released by Maximum Games. 55% of sales came on the Nintendo Switch, 24% on the PS4 and 21% on the Xbox One.

Here is GfK’s top ten for the week ending January 16:
