Kanye visited the Nintendo Booth during the E3 and was even able to spend some time with Shigeru Miyamoto. He requested a meeting with Reggie, and the two ended up meeting at one of Kanye̵
“We had so many different projects on Nintendo going on, the opportunity to do something with Kanye was just not there, and therefore I had to find a way to politely reject this opportunity to work with him. I said to him,” Kanye, you do not want to work with us because we are tough, we are tough. All we do is push for the very best content. We would not be the type of partner you want to work with. ‘And he looks at me and says,’ Reggie, you’re just the kind of partner I want for that reason! ‘ It’s like, ‘Oh you good.’ “
Reggie said that not only was the meeting “interesting”, Kim Kardashian-West was also there. While the project never saw the light of day, both Reggie and Nintendo felt that “Kanye has such a passion for the video game space, and he is a creator.”Kanye’s story with games extends beyond this one encounter, when he revealed that he was working on a game titled Only One that would get players to guide his mother Donda “to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light.” While he announced the project in 2015, there has been little news about it since then.
