Tyler "Ninja" Blevins has said he does not want to play games with women on his megapopular Twitch live stream. His reason is that he is concerned that people can start rumors that can disrupt their family. But it has not stopped him from pretending to play games with a woman in an advertisement for Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Nor did he stop him from actually playing games with Ellen Degeneres in his language show this week.
Ellen invited Ninja to find out that he makes hundreds of thousands of dollars each month broadcasting his fortnite gameplay. She joked about how she bought an Xbox to get rich. Obviously she needed a coach, and this was where the Ninja went in.
The show then cut to Ellen and Ninja who played Fortnite together on Xbox One. You can see the expanded clip here:
As standard for daytime interviews, Ellen sticks to the basics. She asked how he met his wife and how many hours a day he played the game. And then it was right to learn how to make money as a game stream.
Ninja Still Does not Want to Play With Women
But while Ninja turns out to Ellen to increase his fame and payment checks from Samsung, he's still not been flowing with a woman. He refuses to. There was a controversy in August when he said he did not want to.
In a post on Twitter Ninja explained that he does not want to play with women because he tries to minimize online harassment from his life. And it's his belief that if he plays with women, people who look at his power will bother both him and his wife about how to cheat.
But he is obviously not worried enough for harassment to say no to Samsung's money or a look on national television. When it is in favor of him, he sees him making an exception.
On his flow of life, which is his primary source of income, he continues to play alone or with other men. He does not want to deal with harassment and rumors, and I see his solution as gender-based discrimination in the workplace.
